ELVIRA K. GONZALEZ
FOUNDER
Elvira is a traditionally published author and producer working across publishing, film/TV development, and production. A former NCAA Division I athlete and track and field coach, her experience on both sides of the story as storyteller and subject shapes Hartwell’s approach to developing intellectual property.
Her work in entertainment IP began nearly a decade ago, when her life story first attracted film/TV option offers, including development with a leading management and production company. That experience brought her directly into the development process: evaluating screenwriters, reviewing scripts, participating in writer interviews, and joining early creative conversations around assembling the creative team for the adaptation.
She wrote the proposal for Hurdles in the Dark, leading to a six-figure preemptive deal with Macmillan Publishers. Her book was named a 2025 Amèricas Award Commended Title, alongside multiple other honors.
Author. Producer. Founder.
In 2024, Elvira went on to produce and finance her first documentary. It has since generated multiple production and acquisition offers from established film and television companies.
Before launching Hartwell, Elvira founded Writers Inkubator. She helped authors develop book proposals, position their work for traditional publishing, and secure literary representation, which contributed to multiple book deals.
Today, Hartwell develops and packages compelling stories across publishing, film/TV, and media.
was built around a simple idea: creators deserve clarity about their work, their options, and what comes next.
